The final Christmas Countdown
By the time this has posted, I should be (fingers crossed) on a flight back home for the holidays. But I thought I'd wrap up my 2019 posting with a little project that actually wasn't selfish.
My husband loves hand-knit socks, and I absolutely love making them for him. They're quick(ish, he has much bigger feet than I do!), always a little fun, and it just feels good to make something that's appreciated. He has pairs that are almost worn through to the toes because he hides them from me and won't let me throw them out!
These are made from the Palestra pattern, found on Pinterest. They're tricky enough with the colourwork to keep them interesting, and they have the shape and comfort levels of your faourite gym socks. I used some scrap yarn left over from my Balmaha Sweater (which I will probably do a proper post about soon, but I don't want to make any promises that I couldn't keep!). You know what they say, happy husband, happy... lusband? Is there even a phrase? Either way - it was a great gift to round out another great year of making!
Happy stitching,
Molly x
